About this workshop
The Cozy Winter Centerpiece Floral Workshop is a relaxed, welcoming introduction to floral design, perfect for brightening a chilly January evening with creativity, conversation, and fresh seasonal flowers. Designed for beginners and curious creatives alike, this workshop invites you to slow down, work with your hands, and create a charming winter arrangement that feels warm, inviting, and well-suited to everyday home styling.
This is a social, small-group experience where learning and enjoyment go hand in hand. Whether you come with a friend or on your own, you’ll find a friendly, supportive environment where participants connect over shared curiosity and a love of natural beauty. No prior floral experience is necessary. The workshop is suitable for ages 15 and up and is thoughtfully paced so everyone can feel confident and successful.
Guided by the master instructors at the Cass School of Floral Design, you’ll be led step by step through the process of creating a winter centerpiece from start to finish. Cass instructors bring years of professional floral design and teaching experience, offering personalized guidance throughout the class. Workshop size is intentionally kept small to ensure each student receives individual attention, hands-on support, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Beyond arranging, this workshop offers a deeper introduction to the world of flowers. You’ll learn foundational floral design techniques, including how to build a balanced composition, work with color and texture, and create an arrangement that feels natural and effortless. Instructors will also share insights into current floral design trends, creative pathways within the floral industry, and how these skills can be used for personal enjoyment or professional exploration.
Participants will gain practical knowledge about flowers themselves, including basic botany, seasonal growing cycles, and a bit of floral history that informs modern design. You’ll learn where florists source their flowers, how to shop at flower markets or local growers, and when foraging may be appropriate. Essential care tips will be covered as well, helping you extend the life of your arrangement and keep flowers looking fresh and vibrant at home.
The Cass School of Floral Design, founded in 1979, has provided instruction to thousands of floral design hobbyists and professional graduates over the decades. This workshop reflects Cass’s long-standing commitment to quality education, craftsmanship, and accessible learning, blending tradition with contemporary design sensibilities.
All flowers, containers, materials, and tools are included in the workshop, and students will take home the centerpiece they create. By the end of the class, you’ll leave not only with a beautiful winter arrangement for your table, but also with new skills, inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for flowers during the winter season.
This workshop is an invitation to gather, learn, and create something beautiful together, bringing warmth and natural elegance into the heart of winter.
